The Katholikon of the Holy Monastery of Pantokrator of Mount Athos bears 19th century frescoes, some of which are repaintings of the older paintings.
With the use of modern technological means and in a non-destructive way, the various phases of selected frescoes in the catholic of the monastery were traced, as shown spatially in the following plan. The methods applied were a) infrared reflectoscopy, b) ultrasound tomography and c) electromagnetic tomography. Selecting the points of interest shows the results of the first method of analysis. Infrared reflectance (IR) helps to highlight possible subsequent interventions or changes in the original raft and was applied in the range from 1.6 to 2.0 μm
